Chasin’ Jesus: Til' My Last Breath
Truth
“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.” – 1 Chronicles 16:11 (KJV)
The Word calls us to seek the Lord not just once in a while, but continually — with the same energy, persistence, and passion we use to chase after the things of this world.
Fact
There was a time in my life when I was chasing all the wrong things. I was chasing after what I thought would fill me — people, habits, and temporary satisfaction. I used to say, “I was chasing chickens, now I’m chasin’ Jesus,” because the things I used to run after only left me empty and broken. It was the power of the Holy Ghost that gave me strength, peace, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Feelings
Now, when I say “Chasin’ Jesus,” it means I’m running after the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Every day is a race, but I’m running it with purpose. I feel alive, free, and full of hope because I know where my steps are leading me — closer to Him, and into the calling He has placed on my life.
Every step with Jesus is a step away from the old life, and a step closer to eternal life.
